I worked on the modernization of Cryptonews, a cryptocurrency publishing and market-data platform serving more than 150,000 users across 24 languages.
My work covered legacy Laravel refactoring, migration to Vue.js and Inertia.js, performance optimization, market-data integrations, and advertising systems. I later architected its migration to WordPress, preserving the existing site structure and integrating Vue.js into the new platform.

The Engineering Challenge
Modernizing Cryptonews involved more than changing its publishing system: the platform also supported coin listings, rankings, live pricing, and custom advertising across 24 languages.
The work required improving the existing Laravel application, supporting its operational features, and later transferring the platform into WordPress while preserving its established structure.
My Engineering Contribution
Refactored the legacy Laravel application
I rewrote and refactored older Laravel code to improve maintainability and support continued development. I migrated the frontend to Vue.js with Inertia.js, modernizing the user interface while retaining Laravel’s backend application logic.
Improved performance across application and media delivery
I worked on caching strategies, static page generation, and responsive image generation to improve loading speed and delivery efficiency.
These changes addressed both application processing and the amount of media delivered to users, supporting a platform operating across 24 languages.
Architected the migration from Laravel to WordPress
I designed the migration approach and built scripts and data-transfer pipelines to move the platform from Laravel into WordPress while retaining its existing site structure.
I also integrated Vue.js into WordPress to support interactive functionality within the new publishing architecture.
Developed cryptocurrency listings and market calculations
I worked on coin listings, ranking logic, and calculations for top gainers and losers. I integrated multiple third-party data services and implemented synchronization workflows to keep the platform’s market data updated.
I also contributed to the pricing microservice that aggregated asset prices across different exchanges.
Built configurable advertising logic and tracking
I developed custom advertising algorithms that supported ad placement by slot, country, and region. This gave the business control over where advertisements appeared and which audiences received them.
I implemented impression and click tracking to capture how those placements performed.
Outcome
- Modernized a platform serving 150,000+ users across 24 languages, covering application code, frontend delivery, and publishing architecture.
- Improved loading speed through caching, static generation, and responsive images, alongside refactoring of the existing Laravel application.
- Migrated the platform into WordPress while preserving its established structure, using scripted data-transfer pipelines and Vue.js integration.
- Extended market-data and advertising capabilities, including synchronized coin data, exchange pricing, geographic ad targeting, and performance tracking.
